I was reading Will's Batman Unmasked the other day and it struck me that quite a lot of what he talks about there could be applied to MSCSI in one way or another. I'm going to write a bigger post about that in the MSCSI sub-forum, but what other books - not necessarily comics - have made you think of MSCSI or are in a similar vein?

It's not a comic per se but rather manga (although that is a kind of comic just not quite in the Western cultural understanding of the concept). It's English title is "The Devil and Her Love Song" In some ways Maria (the main character) reminds me a little of Cat in that Maria has the ability to read people very well and she's very smart. Again, knowledge not physicality is being used as a superpower here. Of course there are differences in that Maria is less of a 'people person' than Cat! Maria does play up to gender stereotypes in a way but it's sort of subverted. Everyone thinks she this really hard/mean person but in reality she likes fluffy/frilly things. Showing once more that appearances are deceptive and it gives a deeper meaning to female characters It can be read on line here: www.mangareader.net/367/akuma-to-love-song.html

Oh thanks for that! I haven't read much manga but I'll definitely take a look at this one.
