Is anyone else following the Society for Cinema and Media Studies’ annual conference on Twitter? It's taking place in Chicago this year and I couldn't go, but I'm following the #scms13 hashtag and there are some really interesting papers being given and discussions being had. I'd definitely suggest checking it out if you're interested in cinema, media studies, television or fandom. Suzanne Scott (whose name you might recognise from the Team Cat section of the MSCSI creators page has also written a really interesting blog post on SCMS13 as a massively open online conference, which I'd highly recommend. www.suzanne-scott.com/2013/03/08/distanced-learning-scms-as-mooc-massively-open-online-conference/

I've been following the tweets a bit as well - it looks like a fantastic conference! i'll look for the programme online as well and see what panels and presentations are going on.
That's a fantastic blog post too from Suzanne. It's really made me think so much about how social media has changed the conference experience. Now, you can still follow things even when you're not physically there. Plus, even when you are, there is so many interesting things being tweeted all the time from people in different panels. I love it!!

I'd seen Will's tweets and it sounded nifty, but man, this is one of the few times I wish I was back in Milwaukee and could go--SO COOL.
