Hello! I'm Clay, one of the artists working a bit more behind the scenes on MSCSI, coming up with character designs, things like that. I'm an editorial illustrator primarily, but get to branch into comics from time to time. Last summer I was very fortunate and honored to work with Suze and Sarah for an io9 article Will penned about the future of Batman on film which was loads of fun. I grew up just a few blocks away from NASA Mission Control, so spaceflight is my whole life, but also live for baseball, old movies, old music (honestly I have no idea who half the musicians these days are), and science. Also trying to teach myself animation, which is a constant struggle lol I hope you all are very well and thanks for having me

Clay! It's great to see you here. We have an Ask the Artists thread on the go, so if anyone has questions about Clay's amazing work and the role he played in MSCSI -- you can see some of his designs and notes in the issue 1 Lookbook -- that would be a great place for discussion. Can you provide a link to your website Clay, so we can check out your portfolio?

Thanks Will! Of course...I guess I probably should've included that to begin with... www.clayrodery.com main site clayrodery.tumblr.com tumblr blog (which just has the same stuff, but also sketches of whatever that don't exactly belong anywhere official)

Hi Clay! Welcome to the boards I am incredibly jealous that you grew up a few blocks away from NASA Mission Control! I went to Kennedy Space Centre when I was in the US a few years ago and that was so cool.

Oh, but Kennedy's a bit more accessible to the public, and has many more things to do/see around there. Mission Control's a bit less hands on, so I think I'm more jealous of you - I haven't been back to Kennedy in 18 years lol

Hi Clay! Just had a poke at your art and it's fantastic. (Heck, all of the artists so far working on this project are really stunningly talented!)

Haha, that makes me feel a bit better then! I'd love to go back there. It was fascinating seeing everything.
