Welcome, Cat People, to the MSCSI message board, hang out and general discussion area type thing! In case you're not familiar with this kind of forum, we figured we'd put together a quick user guide.
User Settings
Once you've registered, click on the profile icon over to the top right of the page tab to set up your MSCSI profile. From here you can set up your name, the profile pic you want to use, your contact info, signature and any other info you'd like to share with us (website, birthday, favourite MSCSI character, etc). You can also choose whether you want to keep some information, like your birthday, email address, etc. private.
Make sure you keep your email address up to date. We don't use it for anything but your email address is the only way for you to retrieve your password if you forget it. If you forget your password and you can't remember your email address then you're kind of stuck.
Gender Identification
Sadly the forum software doesn't quite have the same outlook as us in relation to gender and only gives you the option to choose male or female. Until we can get that fixed you can hide the gender icon by going to Profile > Modify Profile and changing the drop down menu next to 'Hide Gender' to yes.
Posting and Replies
You can start a new discussion, funnily enough, by clicking on the "new thread" link at the top right of the sidebar in the relevant category board. From the post message screen you can enter your title (always useful) and write your post. There's an option to add an attachment (handy for uploading your fan art) as well as a handy characters remaining box which lets you know how much more space you have. The quicktags along the top of the input box are for formatting your text (bold, italic, spoilers, code) and easily inserting links, images and video.
To reply to a discussion you have two options. MSCSI supports quick reply, so you scroll to the bottom of the page, enter your text in the box and hit "post". Alternatively, you can scroll to the bottom of the thread and click on "reply" form. This opens up the post message screen, which you'll be familiar with having read what I just wrote about it
If you notice a typo after you've posted, the modify link is in the top right hand corner of your post.
And that's the start. It's all pretty straightforward but if you're stuck of if you've got any questions, just give us a shout. If we add any new features or post any updates we'll stick them in the Gloria Monday board, and if you've got any suggestions for this forum, or run into any trouble, let us know about it here.
