Hello, all,
I'm Archane, from the Midwest in the United States. My academic background is in legal studies, and I'm fortunate enough to be employed doing what I love - advocating with people with disabilities, both individually around accessibility in the built environment and as a community organizer around transportation issues. In my spare time, I read a lot (mostly SFF, but growing up the rule was that if you can reach it, you can read it, and that's more or less held true ever since), table-top role play (AD&D and d20 Modern), nerd our over feminism, sociology, identity politics, and governmental politics, and generally putter online.
I'm an avid knitter and crocheter (I'm already imagining what type of yarn might be best to make Cat's purple scarf), and I share my home with the Spousal Unit and my cat.
I'm really looking forward to reading MSCSI as it progresses, and sharing it with this community!

Hello! It's great that you're employed doing what you love. Advocating must be really hard work some times but I bet the amount of satisfaction you can get from it worth all that.
You have to post pictures if/when you make Cat's purple scarf!

Hiya--whee, Midwest and knitting, represent. I'd say maybe linen or bamboo for that scarf, personally.

Advocacy is really amazing work. Most days - for my particular job, at least - the hardest part is navigating all of the minutiae in the applicable U.S. and state laws, but that's almost my favorite part next to being able to see the changes I've helped create as I move about town.
Originally I was thinking I would want to do the scarf in a lace-weight merino wool, but now I'm liking the sound of a silk/bamboo blend!
