Um, hi! I've never been on a forum that's new before—I usually come in late in the game when it's all full and I can stand in the corner and people-watch. So. Pardon any inept ramblings! I'm an undergrad music student in the middle of Nowhere, US. I'm mostly into sci-fi and fantasy books (Terry Pratchett at the moment) or shows (Whovian!) While I love reading about the characters and plots and what other people say about comics, I've never actually gotten into the comic format before. I tried with Sandman after I read Good Omens, but I never made it past the second book. Cat is catching my interest, however; and I think this one may stick I found out about MSCSI through a few different articles and interviews; I don't remember which one I clicked first! I adore the thought of a superhero like Cat, and I can't wait to really get into this world.

*Waves hello back* Undergrad music student - what is it that you play? I sing, actually. (What do I sing? Soubrette stuff, and I'm really into Debussy at the moment. Which translates to classical if you don't speak music nerd ) Glad to find more Who fans! I am embarrassingly behind on New Who because of stuff, and I've barely cracked the surface on the originals, but I hope to find the time soon.

New Who season starts in little over a month- plenty of time to get caught up :-) I grew up on Tom Baker (Mom parking me in front of PBS) but adore the reboot- just some great stuff. Happy to have you here, Keys!

I can't bring myself to say I'm a Whovian, out of respect for the proper fans; I just love watching Matt Smith and David Tennant run around and be silly..
I know Debussy; anything on Youtube of you singing?

Hello there fellow whovian! You should defintely look at the old-who if you hae a chance.
Apparently 'Genesis of the Daleks' was voted one of the best episodes (it has Tom Baker as the doctor).

It does take time to get into Old Skool stuff, but I've found that Tom Baker's Fourth Doctor really is the best gateway. The reason for that, I'd argue (CONTROVERSIAL OPINION ALERT) is that David Tennant took a serious chunk of inspiration for the Ten persona from Four--that and there are some seriously good serials. I'm personally very fond of City of Death.
