What are your favourite comics, and why? My favorite comics zigzag all across the board. I love titles like Hellboy that bring in influences from folklore, myths and Lovecraft, Habibi for its beautiful presentation of the commonalities in Abrahamic religions, Posy Simmonds' eye for realistic characters and expressions, and the Aya series that's set in the Ivory Coast circa the 1970s. I also love the art and storytelling of Bone, the early ElfQuest story arcs and Strangers in Paradise, although I'm positive the ending could have worked without David being killed off. In his case, it really felt like a man in the refrigerator! On the other hand, I've got more than a few volumes of late 1990s Fathom and Witchblade on my shelves, which, for all their cheesecake, have more than a few enjoyable characters. I'm currently reading a lot of Batwoman (I love how Kate is written and that she tries to achieve balance in her life that Bruce cannot, and the artwork and page layouts are stunning) and something called The Five Fists of Science (in which Tesla and Mark Twain FIGHT CRIME!).

Sarah, how much scope is there for adding to the original scripts/drawings? (I'm thinking of Will not mentioning a ring but you drawing one in!)

I'd really love for us all to meet up! I'm hoping it will happen! Sarah, I absolutely love your work! One of your pictures has been my cover picture on Facebook since last year My other question would be - how do you think the internet is a useful tool/platform nowadays for an artist? Do you feel it's any easier to reach people, or does the medium not matter?

no one has met me! Sadface I nearly said I'd met you before realising I hadn't! I think that says a lot about how close we are as a team I'm across a big pond, no one has met me (except Will, and I'm not sure he remembers :-) But the joys of technology, I still KNOW so many of you!

This is one of the things I love about the internet and social media. It makes such a big difference in engaging with and getting to know people. Sarah, how is it working on a project like MSCSI totally over the internet? Is it difficult not having face-to-face meetings (and not having met some of the people you work with)?

Sarah, how much scope is there for adding to the original scripts/drawings? (I'm thinking of Will not mentioning a ring but you drawing one in!) NB this is why we're going to list Sarah as colours/covers/mindmap and Suze as interior pencils and inks! It would be Suze who added the ring - Sarah has certainly added aspects to scenes through colour, but it would be unusual for her to actually contribute jewellery. (On the other hand, Sarah has decided the colour schemes and lighting of every scene in issue 1, though I made suggestions in the script).

I'm off to find Five Fists of Science, that sounds amazing!
Sarah - and everyone actually, how do you think MSCSI as a project would have been different if we had all met before collaborating, and we were all working together in the same building?

That is a really good question though, and kinda similar to what we were talking about last week. I think things might move quicker - having people in different time zones does mean that emails can take longer to reply to, but then I do think that can be a good thing because it allows all of us to think more about what's being talked about. I'm really interested in what Sarah, Suze and Will say to this one.
